Announcing to the Parents

We originally wanted to wait until Mothers Day to announce to our families but realistically it wasn't going to work with my family, and we figured we better tell Tavid's family as well.  We made plans with my Aunts and Uncles to meet them for breakfast April 30th.  My family was all coming to town for my cousin Kallie's Bridal shower, but we wouldn't be able to make it because Tavid was in a wedding.  So we figured we would tell my Aunts and Uncles first, and then find a time to tell my cousins.  I figured they would know something was up, it wasn't often we wall got together without the rest of the family but there was no way to get around that haha!

We decided we would just come out and say it to them, they were all so excited and a few said they knew it! Since I have lost both of my parents, they have all been like parents to me and it was really important to me that my child knows the love of that family.  So we asked all 6 of them if they would be grandparents to our child.  I know it makes my parents happy to know that they are taking such good care of me and play such an active part of my life.

We decided on Sunday to pop in on Tavid's parents to drop the news.  We decided to put together a box with some items in them, a onesie, a bib that said grandma, a pacifier and a note that said.

"Grandma & Grandpa-
Please hang onto these for me in case I need them when I come visit. See you in December!
Love,
Baby Caswell"

We also made one for Tavid's Sister Kayla!

We stopped at his mom's first, we thought for sure she would know something was up because we don't typically drop in.  But we knew if we asked to stop over, she would know something was up for sure! So we figured the sneak attack was the best option! We gave his mom the gift to open, and she was small talking while she was opening it, but as she started to read the card the small talk stopped.  She started to cry and asked if we were pregnant! We said yes and there were lots more tears and hugs around! We said we had something for Tavid's sister but wasn't sure when we would see her.  She said she was coming over soon, so we decided to wait until she came so we could tell her also.  She was excited!  After his moms, we went over to his Dad's to tell him.  His step mom was working, so we let his Dad open it.  Typical guy fashion, he was excited, but no crying from him! haha

We are eager to get to tell all of our friends! We decided to tell friends as we saw them in person.  We are telling my cousins the following week when we all get together for pizza.
